Getting the House of Our Dreams

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

It is not easy to be starting a family while living on a tight budget. When my girlfriend of six years decided to get married it was a dream come true. After the wedding, she moved into my apartment and that became our home. Everything was going out fine. As a young married couple, we had everything going for us. Life was as we planned it would be.

When my wife got pregnant, we thought ourselves blessed. I had always pictured myself as a father and I knew that my wife was going to be great mom. We were destined for this.

The first step after getting pregnant was to move out of our shabby apartment and into a real house. We wanted raise our children in a great environment and the apartment definitely was not one. And in no time we were contacting several Plymouth real estate agents. We needed an agent who could help us find the right house for the family. We needed an agent who understands that we are on a very tight budget.

Thankfully, the agent that we found led us to the most beautiful 4-bedroom house in a lovely subdivision. It had a beautiful garden and the windows had blue shutters just like what my wife wanted. It was perfect for when we get our three children and it will be a great environment for them to grow up.

Dreams do come true. We never thought that our wish would ever be granted but the good Lord did. The agent, truly was, heaven sent.

Avoiding debt

Friday, November 7th, 2008

The present trend shows that an increasing number of companies are providing cheap loans to those having histories of bad credit. There are many things that one can do to make oneself free from debt. However, if you are really in the trap of debt, there is no need to panic as one can get out of it with little intelligence.

First things first - do not borrow any more money! Instead, clearly make a note of the details of everything you owe. This will help to clear things up in your own mind. Then speak to your creditor(s) to explain your situation. You will be surprised at just how helpful and supportive your lenders will be. They will help you to rearrange the terms of your loan(s) and arrange a new repayment plan with you. Remember, it is in your lender’s interest that you are in a situation where you are able to repay the loan, so don’t be afraid to talk to them.

Firstly, only ever take out a secured loan or unsecured loan with a reputable lender. The majority of lenders are legitimate and responsible, and will offer help and support should you run into financial problems. However, loan sharks do exist and should always be avoided. They will charge you extortionate rates of interest and will be far from helpful should you be unable to make repayments.

Perhaps the best tip is to shop around before choosing a loan. Whether on the lookout for a secured or unsecured loan, you will find the market competitive and that lenders will try to attract you with favourable rates. When comparing loans, try and look for low APRs rather than the more tempting looking zero percent offers. - this Annual Percentage Rate takes into account additional costs and fees as well as the interest rate, giving you an accurate calculation of what you will be paying back each year.

Try to repay loans as quickly as possible. The quicker you can repay, the less interest you will have to pay.

If you find yourself unable to cope try to not bury your head in the sand as this there is always help available. The longer you go without getting help, the more your interest will accumulate, so it really does help to act quickly. There are simple things you can do to regain control of the situation.

The second thing to do is to seek professional independent advice. There are several free services that are there to help you, so make the most of them and tackle your financial battles head-on.
